Prior to the Student Aid Commission, Patrick was the Chief Information Officer of the California State University (CSU) system, the largest public four-year higher education system in the nation, where he was responsible for the operation of all enterprise student, financial aid, finance, business intelligence, and human resources systems used by the 23-campus system.
Previous to this, Patrick was Vice Chancellor for Technology, Research, and Information Systems at the California Community Colleges (CCC) Chancellor’s Office, the largest two-year higher education system in the nation.
He is a national authority on the development and management of local, segmental, State and national student longitudinal data systems, accountability reporting, metrics design, and institutional research. Patrick has successfully managed the largest student longitudinal datasets in the nation and has leveraged these in pursuit of researching topics in higher education that have led to significant policy changes over the course of the last two decades.
