Maria S. Salinas is an accomplished business woman, entrepreneur and a stalwart community leader. Her business acumen and financial expertise has led her to the boardroom of community organizations, higher education institutions, and community banks. Ms. Salinas has extensive experience in corporate governance, audit and compliance, and regulatory matters.

Ms. Salinas is an entrepreneur having founded Salinas Consulting, a finance and accounting consultancy firm. For over ten years, Salinas Consulting has worked with major corporations providing collaborative financial expertise to specific engagements. In 2010, Salinas Consulting was awarded the Professional Services Award from the National Latina Business Women’s Association of Los Angeles.

Previously, Ms. Salinas held financial leadership roles with The Walt Disney Company. She was responsible for global financial reporting for the Consumer Products division, which also included accounting, controls and compliance. She led the development of the division’s Accounting Shared Services organization and the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley rules. Ms. Salinas served on numerous finance executive steering committees for company-wide initiatives, including technology initiatives. Prior to her work at the division, Ms. Salinas was part of the management team at the Corporate Controllership level, responsible for technical accounting and financial reporting projects.

Ms. Salinas has robust public accounting experience with both Ernst & Young and Kenneth Leventhal & Company, focused on the real estate industry and primarily served SEC clients.

As a corporate director, Ms. Salinas is former Chairwoman of ProAmérica Bank, a community bank in Los Angeles. She was a Founding Organizer and Director serving on the Board since the bank’s inception in 2006 until the sale of the bank. Over that period, she served on the bank’s Audit (Chair), Loan, and Nominating & Governance and several adhoc committees. Ms. Salinas led the merger transaction with Pacific Commerce Bancorp, successfully closing in May 2016. Ms. Salinas was invited to the Board of Pacific Commerce Bancorp and currently serves on the Audit, Information Technology and Compliance committees.

Ms. Salinas’ history of community engagement has been an integral part of her professional career. Ms. Salinas is a member of the Board of Trustees of Loyola Marymount University, member of the Board of Directors of Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine (KPSOM), and Chair of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s (HSF) Southern California Advisory Board. Ms. Salinas is a founding member of HOPE (Hispanas Organized for Political Equality), a leading statewide organization promoting the advancement of Latinas through leadership, advocacy and education.

Ms. Salinas has been recognized for service and leadership by civic and community organizations. Ms. Salinas lives in Pasadena, California, with her husband Raul and their four sons.
