As Chief Deputy Executive Director, Catalina Mistler is responsible for the oversight of the administration and delivery components of the California Student Aid Commission’s numerous grant, loan assumption and scholarship programs, including the $1 billion annual Cal Grant program that provides low income California students financial assistance at colleges and career technical schools.

Catalina Mistler began her career at the California Student Aid Commission in 1981 as an office assistant and subsequently was assigned additional roles and responsibility. In recognition of her sustained reputation for excellence, she was designated as Division Chief for Program Administration and Services in 2006.

During her thirty year association with the Commission, Ms. Mistler has coordinated state assistance, population specific and loan assumption programs, federal post high school education advocacy programs, and assumed integral roles related to internal administration and policy development and implementation. In her current capacity, she also facilitates external communication and collaboration with institutional, public and private stakeholder groups.
