The 2022-2023 Annual Statewide Financial Aid Workshop registration is now open for both in-person workshops and virtual events. In 2022-2023 the Commission will host more than 60 in-person workshops and several live, virtual workshops via Zoom.

2022-23 ANNUAL STATEWIDE FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP

The Annual Statewide Financial Aid Workshop are a partnership effort between the California Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (CASFAA), the California Community Colleges Student Financial Aid Administrators Association (CCCSFAAA) and Commission. These free workshops, offered both in-person and virtually, provide high school counselors and staff, student advocates, student outreach coordinators, community education partners, Dreamer resource staff and foster youth advocates the opportunity to attend a half-day training to obtain relevant financial aid information they can use to support their students apply for and receive financial aid for college.

2022-23 ANNUAL STATEWIDE FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP

Training topics include updates to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and California Dream Act Application (CADAA), as well as information and updates to Cal Grant programs, Middle Class Scholarship, Programs for foster youth and the California Dream Act Service Incentive Grant. Also covered is impactful, new legislation such as AB 469 which will require local education agencies (LEAs) to ensure all high school seniors submit a financial aid application so they can access critical financial aid resources needed to attend a college or vocational school.
