Due to the 2023-24 California State Budget, the Golden State Education and Training Grant Program is concluding after making the final payments for the 2022-23 Academic Year.
The application period is closed. CSAC is no longer accepting grant applications for this program.
Overview for Students
The Golden State Education and Training Grant Program (GSETGP) supports Californians who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic with a one-time grant of $2,500 to reskill, up-skill, and access educational or training programs to get back into the workforce.
Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP)
Overview for Students
The Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) provides students at participating middle schools throughout the state of California an Educational Trust Award (ETA) of $2,000 held in a Scholarshare 529 interest-bearing account.
Once students graduate from high school, students have six years access to those funds. Funds may be used to pay for qualifying educational expenses including tuition, fees, books, supplies, and other related expenses.
