How do I apply for a Cal Grant?

The Cal Grant Application has two components which must be completed by the March 2nd deadline. The first step is filling out the grant application form, either the FAFSA or Dream Act application. The second step is submitting the studentís official GPA using the Cal Grant GPA Verification form.

Not sure which application you should fill out (FAFSA or Dream Act)?

  • FAFSA filers must be either a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, including registered aliens.
  • Dream Act application can only be completed by students who meet the AB 540 requirements.

For free help completing the FAFSA, CADAA, or Chafee applications, plan to attend a free California Cash for College Workshop happening throughout California from October 1st to March 2nd.
