A Cal Grant is free money

The California Student Aid Commission or its staff does not ask for money or credit card information in order to receive your Cal Grant - A Cal Grant is free money.

  1. Never pay to receive your Cal Grant award.
  2. Never send money to a "third party" claiming to require a pre-paid debit card.
  3. Never give your credit card or bank account number to anyone who claims to need it to process your Cal Grant award.

Your Cal Grant financial aid award is always free. You may visit for more information regarding your Cal Grant.
