Maria S. Salinas

Maria S. Salinas, is an accomplished business woman, an entrepreneur and a stalwart community leader. Her business acumen and financial expertise has led her to the boardroom of community organizations, higher education institution, and to a community bank.

Ms. Salinas is an entrepreneur having founded Salinas Consulting, LLC, a finance and accounting project management firm specializing in control and compliance initiatives. Since 2006, she has served as President. Through her leadership and expertise in finance and accounting, Ms. Salinas has been able to serve the corporate sector. In 2010, Salinas Consulting was awarded the Professional Services Award from the National Latina Business Women’s Professional Association of Los Angeles.

In addition to running her own business, Ms. Salinas is Chairwoman of ProAmérica Bank, the bank serves small to mid-­‐sized businesses, with an emphasis on Hispanic businesses. She is a Founding Organizer and Director since the Bank’s inception in 2006. She is a member of the Director’s Loan Committee and the Governance Committee and has served as Chair of the Audit Committee. Ms. Salinas has extensive knowledge of the community banking industry.

Previously, Ms. Salinas held financial leadership roles with The Walt Disney Company for a span of nearly 11 years. Ms. Salinas’ global responsibilities included financial reporting, controls and compliance, and accounting shared services for the Consumer Products division. Her career began in public accounting with the firms of Ernst & Young LLP and Kenneth Leventhal & Company.

Ms. Salinas received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in 1987. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1989.

Professional & Community Affiliations

Ms. Salinas’ history of community involvement has been an integral part of her professional career. Ms. Salinas is a member of the Board of Regents of Loyola Marymount University, member of the Board of Directors of Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP), and Chair of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s (HSF) Southern California Advisory Board. Ms. Salinas is a founding member of HOPE (Hispanas Organized for Political Equality), a leading statewide organization promoting the advancement of Latinas through leadership, advocacy and education.

Over the years, the State of California, County of Los Angeles, City of Los Angeles and various community organizations have recognized Ms. Salinas for service and leadership. Ms. Salinas lives in Pasadena, California, with her husband Raul and their four sons.
