Barry Keene retired from the California State Senate in 1992 and as Director of the California Department of General Services in 2001. Between those years, he taught full-time at Cal. State, Sacramento in the Masters of Public Policy and Administration program, and served as a guest lecturer at Stanford's Graduate School of Business and UC Berkeley's Institute of Governmental Studies. He authored two casebooks on public decision making. During 20 years of legislative tenure, he specialized in health care, environmental, and judicial issues. He held the position of Majority Leader for eight years. He is a graduate of Stanford and the Stanford Law School.
