Israel Rodriguez
Independent California Colleges & Universities Representative (Governor Appointee)
Israel Rodriguez, of Agoura Hills, was appointed to the California Student AidCommission by the Governor in March 2008. Since 1995, he has served as assistant dean for Hispanic Affairs at Seaver College of Pepperdine University. From 1974 to 1994, he served as university director of financial aid at Pepperdine University. During this time he also served on committees of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), and as a college advisor to the Need Analyst Team for the California Student Aid Commission from 1977 to 1990. Rodriguez was instrumental in establishing the NASFAA Minority Financial Aid Administrators organization. This group promoted the need to increase the number of minority financial aid administrators in colleges and universities throughout the financial aid profession. Rodriguez is a reserve Deputy Sheriff with Los Angles County Sheriff Department, founding member of the Latino Peace Officers Association Ventura County, member of the Drug Enforcement Administration Los Angeles Field Division Citizen’s Academy and member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council California Region 1. Rodriguez received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Psychology from Pepperdine University.
